LOCATION: Evanston, IL
PRODUCTS SELECTED: Marvin Ultimate Insert Double Hung Windows
PROJECT SCOPE: Entire building window replacement for 373 window openings with Simulated Divided-Lites to replicate the historic look. Woodland used an articulate lift for the project.

CUSTOM SOLUTIONS: Woodland Windows & Doors worked with the Condo board to successfully apply for and secure a certificate of appropriateness from the preservation commission of the municipality since the building was a historic landmark.

LOCATION: Chicago, IL
PRODUCTS SELECTED: Marvin Integrity Wood Ultrex sliding French doors with transom, casements, awnings, and rooftop hinged doors. Colonial SDLs and STC (Sound Transmission Class) glazing. Color: White interior and ebony exterior
PROJECT SCOPE: 9 French sliding patio doors with transoms, four hinged rooftop doors, 34 casements, and 19 awnings
CUSTOM SOLUTIONS: The original aluminum-clad builder-grade condominium windows and doors were deteriorating, weren’t energy efficient, showed signs of condensation, and had poor sound resistance. Woodland recommended fiberglass-clad exterior replacements, redesigned the windows and doors for better access and ventilation, and replaced the glass with better STC glazing.

REQUIREMENTS: With windows failing throughout the two buildings, the homeowners association required all windows to be replaced owner by the owner within five years
CUSTOM SOLUTIONS: Woodland provided annual phases for owners to participate in group replacement discounts throughout the project. Woodland utilized a lift system to meet the exterior installation requirements.

CUSTOM SOLUTIONS: The existing bay window skirts date back to the building’s construction in the 1960s. Woodland was able to incorporate a contemporary design element into the project.

CUSTOM SOLUTIONS: The condominium backs up to railroad tracks, so some owners were looking for a sound-reducing window glazing option. Woodland provided an STC upgrade glass variance.

CUSTOM SOLUTIONS: The original scope of the project timeframe was three years, and with the help of an articulate lift and additional workforce afforded to the job, Woodland was able to complete the project in two years.

CUSTOM SOLUTIONS: Ground floor parking garage windows were tinted for privacy & enhanced security for the association.

LOCATION: Buffalo Grove, IL
PRODUCTS SELECTED: Andersen 100 Series Picture Casements / Twin Casements & Andersen 100 Series Sliding Patio Door. Fibrex® composite. Cocoa Bean.
PROJECT SCOPE: Full building. One hundred ten condominiums window and patio door replacement. Woodland’s employee installers completed the project over four consecutive months to maximize efficiencies, maintain quality, and proceed with very little disruption to the residents and neighbors.
CUSTOM SOLUTIONS: Woodland provided the HOA board with a project assessment and recommendation that would maintain the continuity of the look and style and improve energy efficiency. Andersen 100 Series met the performance and color match requirements.

PROJECT: Manor Homes of Chatham
LOCATION: Buffalo Grove, IL
PRODUCTS SELECTED: ProVia Professional-Class Legacy 20-Gauge Smooth Steel Entry door with Clear Glass. The doors have a full wood frame, sidelites, and hardware prep only, including for electric strikes. Color: Tudor Brown.
PROJECT SCOPE: 29 common front entrances, which open into building lobbies. The project required commercial grade doors to match the existing building facade, including, commercial hardware and with the proper thermal break to prevent drafts and condensation into the conditioned space.
CUSTOM SOLUTIONS: Woodland provided the HOA board with a project assessment, recommendation and provided a sample installation ahead of the full installation in order to allow owners to try it out. Woodland worked in concert with the HOA and the door vendor to coordinate and communicate with homeowners to ensure a seamless installation for everyone.
