Transforming an early 1900s home while keeping the historical aesthetic

The Project:

A Hinsdale, IL home built in the early 1900s.

The owners contacted Woodland and said they had true wood windows in their historic home that they liked the look of, but maintenance was becoming an issue. Being wood, the windows required consistent painting for upkeep.

The customer wanted to find a low-maintenance product that would protect the home, but wouldn’t rot, while keeping the same aesthetic.

What the Customer Chose:

What’s Special:

When replacing windows in a historic home, a benefit is that new windows have double pane, insulated glass. What’s special about this project is that Woodland was able to offer an option with simulated divided light to keep the grille pattern with the windows.

With Fiberglass windows, the owners won’t have to continuously paint like they did with the wood windows, providing a low maintenance product with high energy efficiency.

If you are researching door replacement, you have probably noticed that pricing can vary quite a bit. That is because no two homes and no two projects are exactly the same. Door type, material, glass package, hardware, and installation requirements all influence the final investment. At Woodland Windows and Doors, we help Chicagoland homeowners understand their options clearly and tailor a quote to each project’s specific needs. Below is a breakdown of typical installed door pricing and what impacts those numbers.
